About Vegan Metal Maiden
Vegan Metal Maiden began as a spark — a sudden knowing in the darkest stretch of life.
The idea that maybe the body is not ready to stay broken.
That the heart has not been destroyed — only buried.
That I am built to heal, renew, regenerate.
That after everything — after being worn down, overlooked, and walked on — it might still be possible to return.
To choose life – not default to survival.
This is a joyous rebellion.
A refusal to stay sick, medicated, muted, or small in a world that profits from exactly that. It’s rooted in Jersey grit, heavy metal devotion, nerdy fantasy worlds, and the timeless arc of the hero’s journey — the call, the descent, the return.
There is power in becoming invisible in midlife.
Freedom. Latitude.
The ability to live deliberately, loudly or quietly, without permission.
Vegan Metal Maiden is about nature — human and earthly.
Food as life force.
Ethics as grounding.
Strength with heart intact.
Not rage alone — but remembrance.
Not rebellion for its own sake, but the courage to become who one was always meant to be.
The Ranger sets the cloak aside.
Not to become someone new — but to step fully into what was always true.
This site documents a personal return to strength — through food, movement, ethics, myth, and lived experiment.
About Dani
My name is Dani.
I’m a Jersey girl with a misfit heart, a lifelong pull toward fantasy worlds, and a deep respect for the kind of strength that’s built slowly, on purpose. I’m a mother, a maker, and a woman who reached a moment where continuing as before was no longer an option.
Vegan Metal Maiden is how I chose to walk forward — not as a performance, not as a promise, but as a lived practice. I work with food, discipline, and attention as tools for rebuilding health, clarity, and self-trust in real time.
I document what I’m learning as I go: the experiments, the missteps, the recalibrations, the small victories that come from choosing to stay awake and engaged in your own life.
I believe in nature — my own, and the earth’s.
In ethics that have weight.
In compassion without collapse.
And in personal sovereignty earned through repetition, honesty, and choice.
This is my road.
You’re welcome to walk alongside — or let it remind you of your own.
